Advice needed
My char now lvl 36
Co seals situation bad I need 6000seals to get to FIRST stage of serpent seargent
My company seals situation is not real good because I am still trying to get the 6000 together to advance at least one stage, i.e. to Serpent Seargant first class.
Currently I have 1448 Seals.
I can only get three leves per day at about 170seals
leves my level are denied it says I have not high enough co title.
I cannot take leves lower as it is not allowed
So doing leves is practically out
So is there a point in carrying on with a new char or forget about it
Any advice on how to proceed I would be very grateful.

you can do your hunting log: you get a nice amount of seals one time for the grand company hunting log. and you can do fates, they give seals and are grindable. and if your rank is already high enough you can sell dungeon gear for seals.
-
You can trade items to one of the grand company npc's for seals.
Whenever I need 80,000 GC seals for say an Anima weapon step, I'll craft 100 Mosshorn Scale Mail for 512 - 1000 gil each and trade them all in for 700 Seals each. Give the NPC some green colored gear.

Basically what tint has said. Fates are literally going to become your best friend. Plus the hunting logs are quite fun to do. As cheesy as it sounds, it made me feel like a hunter.

If you're still low rank you won't be able to turn in green-named gear yet (or it will be too hard to obtain), but you can do the crafting/gathering delivery turn-ins at the NPC who gives you the promotions. If you turn in 5 high quality items or 10 items of any quality within a week you get a seal bonus from the challenge log which really helps a lot.
It's fine if you're level 1 at the craft - you can buy the items on the market board.

6000 seals is trivial to get you might as well quit now if getting it is hard for you. You'll eventually get to the point where you'll spend like 30k a day if you're crafting lol

Leveling roulette gives seals, more if you play a certain role (usually tank). Guildhest roulette might give seals as well, can't remember.
Also so hunting log, it's a huge amount of seals.

You're an officer on your 'Shining Force' toon.....you have done this all before. This is just another lowkey way to complain about leves again, isn't it OP?
-
Well it is not much but no one said this..
guildleave daily gives some bonus seals

You can do lower-level GC leves and still get seals that way. There's no significant penalty for doing so. Also you should get 8 leve allowances per day, so it adds up. Beyond that, I'd echo what other people said: FATEs, roulettes, and especially crafting and gathering hand-ins if you have any interest in that kind of content. The seal rewards start off pathetic (8 seals per item at level 1) but you'll level fast and start getting significant amounts, plus as someone pointed out there are challenge log seal rewards for hand-ins.
