Mor Dhona v Idyllshire

Now that we have the 'end of patch' version of these areas.....which do you like more?

Personally I liked MD more. The progression was more obvious - going from dirty camp to a town. Idyl is far too large and feels like they were over-ambitious about its use - which falls in line with a lot of Heavensward. Both still have too many locked doors.

In my head I wished in 3.4-5 they would upgrade Idyl, but also do a bit more to Mor Dhona on the side. It should become the 6th city state.

Locked doors on maps are simply opportunities for the future. More of them suggests better things to come.

I hope we could get Ala Mhigo or Doma or Kugane as new endgame city.
Don't put us in a broken empty city again.
I want a lively and large city this time !

in the 5.0 expansion, I would like them to revisit the city states and end-game cities and flesh them out, open some/all of the locked doors and generally add more bustle and life.

I heard that the Silent Conjurer will soon let us into Windurst so we can meet up with Shantotto again... and get that Minion again!

I liked Mor Dhona more. It was kind of just a camp with a hut and now it looks like a real city, or at least a tourist destination. There's something about Idyllshire that makes me think it's kinda small. It's like Mor Dhona became a location while Idyllshire exists for nothing else except to serve adventurers.

Imo these rooms have opportunity for special apartment locations.. but anyway I liked Idyllshire more (just because I didn't like all the purple- personal preference, no judgement on SE for their choice). However, I loved that both changed over time, and I love the beastmen change over time. I love change over time haha.. plz more :P

Idyllshire was a pretty big let down after how beautiful Foundation is. I don't really care for Mor'Dhona, either.

Honestly, most of ARR zones were better, including Revenant's Toll. More compact and interesting.

Which cured one of the problems with the original FFXIV - large, boring zones.

Of course, people complained they were too small in ARR, so they were enlarged for Heaven's Ward. Ultimately though large zones do seem emptier without a crap ton of additional work to make them as interesting as the more compact zones of ARR. Idylshire is a bit larger and feels emptier because it sprawls. That could be fixed by adding a few more things to do in the town itself, but the more you put into it, the more you draw players from the other cities...
