Cannot complete version check AND missing new character start

As of 7 AM Eastern D. time I cannot log into FFXIV. Please use sandbox and test your updates before releasing. If I had released un-proofed versions in my job that didn't work there would be consequences. Somehow SE believes they don't have to quality check. I also don't understand how with the tools available in modern programming that gil sellers and mass advertising hasn't been conquered. These flaws make it easy to hack legitimate subscribers as well.
