When Stormblood comes out

Will there be early access if so how many days will it be early access?
Also will the new relic get a head start like they did last time if you completed it?

Yes preordered games have early access. As such a general head start on questing is available to those players.

Early access starts 6/16/17 IIRC and live on 6/20.

Bear in mind that even though there's early access, you can expect the servers to be suffering constant uptime issues for at least a couple weeks. I'd suggest you don't base your schedule around the idea that you'll be able to just hop on on the 16th and grind your way through the content freely.

That wasn't true for HW, it had some issues but i got to play enough to almost finish the story.

Early access is nice but it not really that big of thing to me when I really think about it. The content going to get burned through quick enough as it is, based on how previous content been.

Second this. I had one issue where I DCed and couldn't get back in for about 20 min but otherwise was fine one of the smother expansion launches I've seen. In fact I saw more problrms when Gold Saucer released than HW.

That said I think Aether Data centre had significant downtime so they weren't so lucky.

With Heavensward, there was Significant server problems for about 2 hours or so, but it was mostly stable after that. There was just a significant join queue for some servers, such as Balmung.

There hasn't been any details about the relic yet, which usually releases within 3 months of the expansion. that's what happened with HW. We did get a head start with the completed zodiac so it's possible this may happen again. Others above have said what is likely to happen with early release.
