[ Suggestion ] - Housing Signs / Timers

I have been playing MMOs a looooong time and my first was Ultima Online (Lake Superior server chyah!) and one of the features it had that I think a lot of us can appreciate, particularly on populated servers was this...

Being able to look at the signpost and see an estimation of house condition (ie a pseudo description of how long till the house collapses) with some kind of clever terms for time left.

"This house is in perfect condition..." >30 days to collapse
"This house looks worn..." >20 days to collapse
"This house is in poor condition..." <10 days to collapse
"This house is a crack den..." <3 days to collapse

You get the point. Why not have an indicator that house hunters can go by like they did in UO? I think that would add a little spice to the housing market. :cool:

While the system is a good idea, generally I don't think people will like the idea because they don't want to compete with other people for open spots.

I think they should get rid of the housing demolition timer entirely tbh

I'd rather them do it by subscription. If your sub expires, you have 45 days to reactivate. Maybe 60 or 90.

I posted this somewhere else before but I'll post it here too.

"I personally want the timer removed completely, but I'd negotiate for like... having a 45 day demolition once a year. Once a year, they'll be like "lol ok guys we're gonna start our annual demolition timer. In 45 days, if you don't step inside your house, it'll be demolished." Like I said, I'd prefer just removing the timer entirely, but I could settle for something like this I guess."

the idea sounds horrible to me, i dont wanna see vulture in front of my house everytime who just want to catch up the house for cheap and resell it for expensive.
than exactly that you would creat with that and you sounds like you are one of this vultures. :rolleyes:

No, just no. I don't think I said it, no.. no. This is one of the worst ideas I've ever read for a solution. Instead of that glimpse of a possibility of getting a house, how about lets make that zero with your idea. Never understood the point of why you want a house to begin with if you are not playing. Already bad enough with the trolls who log in every 44 days just to keep that house! (at least SE is pulling some $$ out of them for doing that)

I'm going to have to agree with Nyerieri, on this one- this seems like a terrible idea. The whole demolition timer is put in place to open up houses to people who will actually use them. If you are playing but can't even be bothered to take all of 30 seconds once every 45 days to teleport to your house and step inside, then you need to step back and ask yourself in total honesty if you really need the house at all.

Don't get me wrong, I would love for SE to get their act together and actually fix housing so that everyone can get a house with no worry about a demo timer but, until they do, the system is about as fair as it is going to get- trying to make sure that houses go to people who actually use them.

I guess it would be funny if you decide to go turn the demolition off close to the demolish time and there are like 40 people outside in front of your sign and the house goes back to 30+ peak shape.
