I would like to suggest that game updates do not reset when they fail to fully download. I do not always live in areas with a stable internet connection, I may download 100mb of the 200mb download, and the internet connection may boot me in the middle of the download. This causes a full reset of the 100mb's I just downloaded. It would be nice to download 100mb, then have that stored in case of this type of incident, similar to other MMO's. Thanks, the game is great by the way.
Patch downloads for the game actually don't reset - if your connection drops out or you are disconnected during a patch update or inadvertently shut down the launcher, when you next login the client will run a file check first specifically to see what has already been downloaded, and once that check is done, it will pick up automatically from where it left off.
If your patch download is resetting then there's probably something going wrong with the download which is not actually how it's supposed to be (and thus it's probably best to get in touch with SE about it). Either way, patching is not reset if your connection is interrupted during a patch download.
Enkidoh's right. When it happens to me, say half way through a 4GB update, it'll show 0% as it starts again. But the update is only then 2GB left to do. Progress bar resets but progress itself continues!
