Access to Dravanian Hinterlands

Hi guys,

Need a bit of help. I have returned to the game and have decided to tie up loose ends before SB releases. I had 2 Aether Currents I still needed to collect in the Dravanian Hinterlands. They are the ones on the upper levels. I relaised that I am unable to access these areas without the help of a friend with a 2 person mount... as I originally did.

I am yet to clear the way through from Coerthas Highlands gate. I have progressed to "An End to the Song" and missed the quest to clear the way.

Was it a side quest? Am I still able to go and do it? If so, which one is it?

I read the quest had been merged into the Main story quest line in patch 3.01 ? If that's the case, am I locked out of doing it?

You should be able to reach the upper area of the Hinterlands without a ride.
Idyllshire has exits to both the right and left sides of the map and you can reach the upper half of the right side by going all the way around and crossing the bridge to the Gubal Library in the south end of the map.

As for the gate to Coerthas Western I can't remember what triggers it to be open. I'll try to look it up.

I don't believe there is a specific quest that opens the path between the hinterlands and the western highlands. At least, I don't remember ever being told it opened. I think it just opens once you unlock flying in both areas, or something like that
