Please bring more action in combat :(

Hey there.

Im new to FF14 and a thing whats most disturbing me is the slow fights.

Lets see at a usual Quest:

(all actions are what ive learned from tutorial and what ive found out myself)

I login in Uldah cause all other cities kinda suck atm.
I crawl to the guy giving me the same 5 quests since 2 levels.
1. click - 2. click - 3. click 4...whatever i got my quests.

Now i port to a camp just looking like all the others ive been to so far.
I talk to a big glowing stone (yeah...) and he allows me to begin the first quest.
click click click ok time to go!

now i walk to the mobs.

still walking...

i think i can see them! aww...nope...

Ok now im at the mob.

Click on mob...CLICK AGAIN...F...1... ... ...5... ... ... ...mob dead yay! oh theres a second!

click on mob (as an alternative option you can press enter...) hmm...heal...click on me. *ZAM BANG UFF* Mob dead!!!!111 Oh no hes running away!

Running. Running and MORE running.

3 more mobs spawn *click click click* (myself in target cause i cant move the camera UP?!) *click click click* yadayadayada

I hope u can see my point.

the combat feels so damn slow. and its so much clicking involved :(
And with the lag its even getting more decallerated.

Please make the combat a bit more dynamic and fast. So that i dont fall asleep while "questing" :D

Ok, so seeing that the OP is only lvl 15 , why dont you give s/he a suggestion or two to help him "do it right " ?

Battle's at low lvl's are suppose to be a little slower , and as you lvl up things will get more exciting . I agree with the point about leve's though , I really hope they do away with them all together , the first 10 were cool but after hundreds of em , they become boring as hell , my suggestion , start joining parties and save ur leve's for DOH/DOL . Just a thought , but your points about running from one mob to the next , thats been part of every MMO ive ever played . At 25 you can start doing the quests to receive ur choco which helps alot

Btw, there are real quests in this game too, so don't treat those sad exuses called leves as quests >.>

Combat in low lvl does not take a lot of clicking at all, if you need to repeatedly click on targets, you do something wrong.
What it does take though is patience.
Having only few skills makes the fights long and boring..I agree that low lvl fights should have more options on what to do.

But complaining about having to run around in a MMORPG..that's not making any sense.

im 22 atm.

and when i get in grp its almost everytime just to PL. and thats to boring for me.

its not the usual running. but its not the point either.

the fights just feeld kinda slow. dont know if u get my point there.

I play on Lindblum too and train classes in your lvl range, and it's very rare for me to find a party which turns out to be a PL party instead of a normal grind party.
Like in..once every two weeks.
Maybe you just got really unlucky when searching for a party:)

Fights will always feel "kind of" slow (not in a party though..?) because FFXIV fights are not about "I can mindlessly click my opponent to death in less than two seconds!!1!" but about strategy: using the right skills at the right time, placing yourself at the right place, evading attacks, hitting for more dmg from the rear, etc.
That's going to be the case even more when we get player combos soon.
Get used to it. Not every fighting system is about speed.

maybe its just cause of the serverlag.

Put haymaker on your melee and you'll be watching the screen for misses.
Then things no longer feel as slow.

You can try hooking up a controller to get better controls.

the zones all. do look the same. the entire world is being remade with theme specific smaller zones then a large copy and paste open world. action paced combat will be coming in 2 weeks with 1.20"self combos" combos hat can be done without a party. and if your walking hit x or c if forget which one since i never walk.
