Stormblood as the new expansion title - what can we learn from it? (HW spoilers)

Heavensward as an expansion had a very intriguing name.

Not only did we ascend into the "heavens" by visiting areas like the Churning Mists, the Sea of Clouds and Azys Lla, the main scenario (3.0) revolved around an antagonist who tried to achieve (heavenly) godhood to pass on divine judgment to those who would endanger his vision of peace. We also fought his underlings (literally called the Heavens' Ward) and tried to end the Dragonsong War, which of course involved dealing with majestic creatures whose natural domains are the skies.
Naturally, there are other references like the name of the final MSQ or the fact that Dragoons became this expansion's mascot job, but you get the general idea.

Now, as our next expansion is called Stormblood, is there anything we can learn from it regarding the general themes of the story?
I think that if the final 4.0 MSQ is called "Stormblood", it will feature a massacre of some sort or a desperate final push against the Garlean presence in Ala Mhigo with many casualties, resulting in a "storm of blood" and battlefields full of despair.

What are your thoughts? Do you think Stormblood only refers to the fact that we will be waging war against the Garleans or do you think that it will refer to something special in the MSQs?

Well, I take "Stormblood" as something more akin to "noble blood" or "boiling blood" and expect it to describe something along the lines of wild running emotions, maybe even a special person that has this so called "Stormblood" in their veins. For all we know, it might be the name of an Ala Mhigan resistance movement.

"Bloodstorm" seems more fitting if they were going for mass murder.

But it's pretty cryptic, so wild open to interpretation. I'll let myself be surprised here.

Well, near the end of the full SB trailer, I think they're singing "Storm of Blood" amongst other things. That's where I got my idea from.^^
Also stuff about "tearing something apart" but I can't make out the rest of hte lyrics.

I just figured it was a take on an old episode of The Simpsons where the big "it" game everyone wanted (and Bart couldn't have) was called Bonestorm, but a spoiled brat talked about already having Bloodstorm, Bonesquad, and Bloodstorm II. His mom was an idiot for not being able to tell the titles apart. So now, enter... Stormblood.

I'm sure there is some meaning behind the title that will be revealed.

What if it's an actual weather phenomenon? Something that makes the rain turn red and people called it a storm of blood. Usually an omen of bad things or the coming of a bad thing. Imagine Omega announcing his arrival that way or whatever that thing over the wall is popping out and it bringing the stormblood? Both in and out of universe.

Just have Raining Blood by Slayer play when that weather shows up.

Rhalgr. Deity of lightning. Ala Mhigan roots. Monks and Rhalgr. There you go.

I'm thinking 3.56 will bring some more relevance to the title.

Also, the ever trustworthy wikia says the Japanese title of the expansion translates to ""Liberators of the Crimson Lotus"... I'm feeling that'll have more relevance than "Stormblood"...

Stormblood, to me means war, the ground will be bathed with blood, those of from the empire and those that want their freedom back.
