preparation for stormblood

so ive been thinking lately, with stormblood on the horizon, is it worth taking the time now to start working on getting together things to help get things going when the expansion hits?

im talking primarily:

commercial manuals
and
collectables

manuals give 300k bonus exp per manual while gathering
and collectables give straight up exp varying depending on which you hand in.

ive done a bit of maths and I worked out that the difference between exp required to get from 1-50 and from 50-60 is roughly 2.8 x as much exp required. with 1-50 requiring 7,734,000 exp and 50-60 requiring and extra 21,736,800 exp

what's the likelihood that the difference between 50-60 and 60-70 will be the same?
meaning to get from 60-70 we'll need somewhere in the region of another 61 million exp.

my main worry is: are SE liable to nerf manuals and collectables to control the speed of levelling in the initial days of the expansion? did they do anything similar with the release of HW?

and is it worth farming these items or is it likely to be time wasted?

Back with heavensward for example initially leve 45 leves were an insanely great way to powerlevel, which was nerfed rather fast. Since Heavensward was the first expansion ever, its quite likely (and also generally a desirable thing) that SE learned 1 or 2 things from it.

So is it possible that they have current level 60 content give drastically decreased exp rewards past 60? Yes definitely. They did so in the past after all.
Is it likely? I'd say also yes here, considering they bothered at all to adjust 50 content exp for 50+ I'd say this is their desired behavior and only was overlooked initially in the first expansion.
Does making a thread on the official forum asking if it will be possible to cheese leveling in the expansion make it more likely they will remember to adjust it? Once again yes.

Manuals on the other hand should be a pretty safe bet, they work the same on level 1 or 59 after all and do not give all that great an advantage anyway. Personally I wouldn't really bothering hoarding collectibles since they take a ton of space anyway.

cheers for your reply. this was the kind of info i was looking for, I disagree somewhat on manuals not giving such a great advantage however.

commercial manuals give a 150% boost to exp gained and they now last for up to one hour rather than the 20 mins they used to last.
with the likely much increased exp per gather, it means you'll most likely get full use out of every manual. meaning if you have enough stocked up you can level all the way to 70 1.5x faster.

Well they only give the exp on the actual gathering attempt, at least from 50 to 60 the majority of exp came from collectible handins and partly leves for me which are not affected by the buff, and from 1-50 only from leves, same here. The exp boost for the actual gathering processes is a nice bonus without discussion but I'd say it made less than 1/4th of the actual gained exp in total, that's why I don't think they give that much of an advantage, but since they stack nicely and are easy to get having some of them ready won't hurt.

Squadron manuals seem like a better choice - +20% for 2 hours, uncapped vs +150% for 1 hour, capped at 300k.

You'll get that 300k in a matter of minutes, and it'll be worse the closer you get to 70, so unless you have several stacks of commercial manuals, I wouldn't bother.

They don't stack? The squadron manuals are really just another way to get the grade 3 FC buffs, so they don't stack with the FC buffs. But I would think they would stack with the commercial manuals.

I'm prepping myself by stockpiling collectables and using a spreadsheet to track it. I'm leaving towards a LARGER exp requirement to be safe for levels 61-70. Here is the spreadsheet I am using:

Mostly like collectables from 3.0 items exp will be low to 0 because SE will try to make sure everyone dont rush from 60 to 70 on DoH amd DoL.

I'm gonna have at least one stack of Commercial manuals ready for sure. Even if I'll hit the 300k very quickly, the bonus is still enormous and I don't have anything to spend blue scrips on now anyway.

I am curious about this as well, if the Squadron manuals stack with Commerical and Company-Issued manuals?

I am aware that they do not stack with FC buffs.
