Game Crashes
The first time I start up the game on my computer, the game crashes. I can be running other games fine all day with no problems, then when I start up Final Fantasy XIV for the first time that day, it crashes after a few minutes.
What's going on? O.o
EDIT: Uninstalled Dell Datasafe from my computer, and it's currently not messing up. I hope it stays that way. >.>

You would probably need to be more specific and tell us the spec of the PC and the settings within FFXIV config.
It is well known that FFXIV is very resource heavy and is known to humble PCs that can otherwise handle everything that is thrown at them.
The more info we have the easier it will be to diagnose :)

AMD Phenom II X6 1045 processor running at 2.7 GHz
EVGA GeForce GTS 450 overclocked to 950 MHz
6 GB Dual Channel RAM
1680x1050 resolution
Everything but multisampling maxed out, Depth of Field and Ambient Occlusion off (After editing the post, I lowered the draw distance down a notch in an attempt to improve my framerate.)
-
that seems about ok, what is the exact error message you are getting? or is it just crashing to desktop?
-
It's just saying, "Unable to detect DirectX device." =/
I'm beginning to think it was the Dell Datasafe doing something. >.>

ok sounds obvious but have u tried updating directX?
Also i had something similar when the game 1st came out and setting up the GFs PC, I had to install the latest .net framework and all her troubles went away over night.
-
Would nVidia include the latest version in their patches?
-
Possibly for directX, but it cant hurt to go straight to the horses mouth.
As far as .net framework goes, afaik the drivers dont bundle that. (could be wrong)
-
What's the link to the DirectX site? (Sorry, just paranoid about my precious gaming computer. :D)
