Houses, houses, houses...I want one!

Ok so FF14 thank you for trying to fix the housing issue but the problem is the apartments that you made it not a big fix...its not even a real fix. When I saw that new apartment I was like ok nice can't wait. Well I went and bought a new apartment and guess what I did... I went and got rid of it in the very same 30 min. Why you ask well the apartment is nothing but the same size as the rooms in at your FC house, if you have an FC house. And to top it all of to get a room at you FC house it 300,000, and to get a room (not apartment mind you but room) at the "apartment" building is 500,000. Can you say rip off. So to the developers can you please make more housing plots, or more wards, or more locations then at the 3 main cites, or Do like Star Wars online (where I might add I have all 5 houses).

Why would you get rid of it? That's 500k you just tossed when you could use it for storage of off season items if/when you do get a house! The difference between the apartment and the fc house is that if your fc loses the house for any reason (disband, someone takes over and goes darkside on the fc, fc moves before the moving tool is active) then that room you paid 300k for is gone. You don't get the 300k back. The apartment is yours forever and won't get destroyed. We'll be getting a new housing area in the upcoming expansion so you may want to be prepared for the landrush that ensues sometime after launch when that activate the ability to purchase plots there.

True but I am in one of the biggest guilds on my server. And yes that is 500K gone but I didn't want another room I wanted an apartment. And until they do something more then just a room in another building then I don't think I will be getting a house anytime soon. Hate me all you want for dropping 500K like that but I don't regret it at all, but I do regret getting my hopes up over a fake apartment.

I don't hate you over spending your gil how you want, I just know how easy it is to need to stash furniture elsewhere when you do get a house. It's easy to fill in those 50 slots of off-site furniture storage too (I really hate destroying furniture).

I can't speak for Lamia but I do believe all of the apartments on Balmung are occupied so Lylix possibly might have been doing a favour for anyone who can genuinely appreciate an apartment at least.

All I have to say is be patient. They add more wards and such when they feel their servers can handle it. Considering they're moving/upgrading the NA servers, I think it's safe to assume that we will be getting more at some point, if not when they add Shirogane housing. So just need to be patient.

Shirogane housing? When are they doing that?

I was hoping they would make the apts a minimum, the same square yalmage as a small house.

I don't really care about outside space but I like a big interior, if I could get an apartment with the same square yalmage as a med house but in a single or 2 floors I would be a happy happy camper. But yeah, apartments are basically storage for a lot of ppl.

Shirogane housing is coming in 4.0 or soon after. It's been one of the biggest announcement outside of Samurai in the 4.0 news so far. Go back and check out anything about 4.0 and you should find it.

The extra money is probably for security. With the FC rooms you can lose that at the whim of your FC owner. They can legitimately kick you out, whenever they want, for whatever reason they want and you'll lose the FC room in the progress (or maybe just because they are moving the FC home to a different house, that still requires all rooms to be demolished first).

But with the apartment, Square Enix is the equivalent to your landlord and they've said there are no plans for demolitions of apartments so you should be safe with one of those indefinitely.

The apartments should be more than just a copy of fc rooms. I expected some sort of balcony where I could do a little gardening and decorating. Nope. Still locked out of cross planting. Yea you get access to a chocobo stable but it's much cheaper to just find a fc with a house and use their one instead.

Apartments are a great idea but they're literally just fc rooms with a chocobo stable. At the very least the rooms should be bigger to make players feel that they have bought an actual place of residence instead of just one room. In their current state they are a rip-off.
