So from what I read, SAM will share loot with MNK

In terms of "prep work" If i purchase a full set of Ironworks Striking with Poetics, will SAM be able to equip these at 50?

with the information we have gotten so far, that would be correct. Same as RDM will share a set with blm/smn.

The only thing you'd need to wait on is the weapon. Everything else you can buy.

I wonder if we will be able to get weapons for the new jobs like they did in Heavensward with the new jobs where each job has an NPC selling weeapons.

Pretty sure that there will be an additional npc, or that chic in mor dhona selling them for tome stones, only thing that I don't see happening is adding these two new jobs into the relic chain (HW). But then again, since both jobs starting in the old ARR area's, they might have added them to the old relic chain, at least for glamour purposes or with an higher ilvl compared to the original old relics. You never know which surprises SE has in store for us lol.

Prepare you MNk and Mage gear then you're golden.

Though I advise you choose to get the gear you want to focus on in 4.0 first for the ilvl 360/370 gear since we are still under cap lock and high cost stage until 4.0 arrives. Then cost for ilvl 360 gear shoudl be reduced by half like the last tome gear sets and cap lock is removed once 4.0 hits.

Technically you don't have to wait, or rather the requested items can be obtained ahead of time. The weapons are obtained by trading in tokens which means you can collect ten of those in advance along with the Encrypted Tomestone and Carbontwine. I had actually already obtained all the necessary items to get three Ironworks weapons, but it looks like I only needed to get enough for two.
