Samurai Tank Class
I had such high hopes that Samurai would have been a Tanking class, but I had an idea; Just like how Archanist branches into a Healer and DPS Class, Scholar and Summoner, how about doing the same for Samurai?
I put some thought into a possible Samurai-Tanking Class:
Job: Shogun
Role: Tank
Shogun will wield 2-Swords rather than just 1 like the DPS Samurai. The Shogun Dual Wielding Swords would Highly Utilize the Parry Stat (finally, some use for Parry) and would have a lot of Counter-Attacking Weapon Skills. Monk had the skill Haymaker, a counter-attacking skill that was never really utilized nor cross classed unless you were a Warrior, so a lot of Shogun's CD's would take that same concept of a proc'ed counter-attacking weapon skill as Haymaker.

----------------------------------------------------------
Just like Paladins have to equip a sword and shield, Shoguns would equip a main sword and a secondary sword. The main sword would hold main stats for a Tank, and the secondary sword will be like the shield of a Paladin and have defensive stats rather than offensive. For the Relic of a Shogun, the stat possibilities would vary on play styles. You can also mix and match different design swords in each hand for, glamours and such, so you can wield the Ifrit Flame Tongue in main hand, then Shiva's Frost Bite in the secondary, and etc.

For bonus points, for the Archanist, I was confused whether to have points in Mind for my Scholar, or Intelligence for Summoner, so I just put the points to Piety.
For Shogun-Samurai, it would just be Strength; no confusions like the Archanist class, but if you want, you can put the points to Vitality, which is not the ideal for the Samurai-DPS but is still beneficial, unlike the Mind-Intelligence stats.

1º samurai is going to be a job how meaby start at lvl 50, so no class involved cutting that option.
2º the archanist case make devs life a hell with balance bcs is hard to touch one without affecting much the other, most of ofensive skills of sumoner are from archanist how is a dps.
well i want to have a shogun tank i hope they made it complety separate from samurai to avoid future problems, and about have it, i dont think we go to have it but now i dont know what other iconic class can be tank in this game either, SAM was our best option and its gone.

They said they will never do what they did with Arcanist branching off into 2 jobs ever again.

It's a bad idea. When coming into a MMO, you should pretty much lose all expectations of what you want, but still request it. Because you will be disappointed 9 times out of 10. But if you don't hold the expectations and something you do want pops up, you'll be excited.

A) you can edit the original post to bypass the limit.
B) you literally posted most of the design decisions for the job system that the devs deemed a failure, ACN causes a lot of problems for the dev team, as does sword and shield, so they will never ever revisit them, especially on a job that already exists.
SAM is a DPS and will never be a tank, I'm sorry but that is a reality that you and a lot of others will have to face. I didn't get my DRK Dps, and i accepted it.

I'm actually glad SMR is a DPS and not a tank. They introduced one of each of the three class types in Heavensward, hoping it would get more people to heal or tank, but what they found was that the increase in participation in either one was only negligibly bumped. I'm personally just glad to finally have a DPS class I care enough about to play.

I was initially upset that SAM became a DPS but I have high hopes for it. I want to get some hands on to see the difference between other DPSes, and hope that the queues will not be terrible.

Samurais never dual wielded swords simultaneously. That's Hollywood. If you want to reference Musashi, he advocated using it occasionally in situations where it would be useful, but never advocated it as a sole style to use all the time. Reasons why dual wielding is terrible and was rarely used in combat
