Quest Glitched out preventing the ability to move forward in the story.

I was playing the main story line, and finally got to a quest called Rock Solid Protection. I am doing all these quest with a friend, so I know I am not missing anything, We did the dungeon, and at the end of the dungeon we poped out, and the quest NPC went from having a red icon, to a green icon, indicating that I can now turn in the quest. when I try to turn in the quest, nothing happens, so after carefully looking, I noticed I never got the quest item from the dungeon. I proceed to run the dungeon again, still does not work, so I go to reddit, and look up the quest, they suggest trying to run it unsynced. so I do, it still does not work, I run the dungeon again after that making sure its not on hard mode,

I can not drop the quest and pick it up again as it is a main story quest, running the dungeon does not give me the item, and talking to a calamity scavengers yield nothing as well, I am at the end of my rope and if I cant get past this bugged quest, I am going to unsub from the game, as no point playing if I cant make progress.

the Item I was supposed to have is the Wardstone from the Sunken Temple of Qarn on normal

I am making sure to exit the dungeon through the portal at the end.

Try typing /isearch wardstone into the chat window to make sure it dropped. Double check you're running the "normal" version of the dungeon, I know you said normal in your post but it's worth a check. Are you sure you have space in your inventory before you finish? Is there someone or something that appears after defeating the last boss of the dungeon? Sometimes things have to be triggered before you leave to progress further.

It has been a very long time since I undertook this quest so I'm only able to give generic advice. Sorry.

I did as you said
/isearch Belah'dian Wardstone
it came back saying "No matches found containing"Belah'dian Wardstone"
I also tried just wardstone and got the same results.

as for the dungeon, yes, I dont even have a hard mode version of it unlocked, but to make sure i shared screen with a friend who has been playing for the last several years, and showed him the process of queuing up for the dungeon and he even said I did everything correct and that I was running the dungeon on the correct difficulty. I should have also gotten it during the first run with my friend, as while I did not get the stone, he did, and was able to complete the quest.

Worst case scenario you could always just abandon the quest and pick it back up again/do it again will likely fix any issues.

as I said above, its a main story quest, its the only reason I am doing it anyway. I have to do the cancerous quest chain before i can access the expansions content,

you can not abandon main story quest.

Sorry, didn't know that! Have you contacted a GM in game and see what they say? I'm afraid SE don't reply to support here (this is just for players to help other players).

You could also try posting in the In-Game Bugs forum. You need to use the template in the stickied first post. They won't reply to your post there either, but with any luck they're file it into the "Accepted Bugs" forum so it'll be worked on. GM or phone support or even email will likely be faster though.

I contacted a GM and they told me to come here. it was a message macro and i half doubt they even read my message.

thats why if i dont get someone to respond soon, or fix this issue, I am going to drop the game, and since the whole point was to play together with a friend, he likely will as well.

so, does the final fantasy team just not give a fuck, or how long is it going to take to get a reply or have someone look into fixing this. I Still cant make progress

I don't know why a GM told you to come here, maybe they wanted you to post it in the bugs forum, maybe they didn't understand the question, but I'm afraid you won't get a reply that you want here.

The forums aren't even run by SE staff if I recall correctly. Contact a GM in game & ask for immediate assistance if possible to see if they can reset the quest. I'm sure I've heard of this being possible & hopefully it will help.
