Need a leveling server. Balmung Transfer later.

I need a NA leveling server, after which I will end up transferring to Balmung.
No reason other than I don't want to pay for a transfer until I am comfortable enough that I am sure on my character.

I played a while back before Heavensward, then came back during heavensward but stopped playing soon after. Level 43 on my character. I just can't get in to it now that I have come back and my OCD isn't letting me clean out the dust and try a new class or any of that.
In any event, I want to start a new character.
The only thing I am sure of is it will be a Taru. It will likely be either a Tank or a healer and if I did go DPS it would probably be a black mage.

Does anybody know a good NA server for someone on the East Coast? I am working a lot right now and have play times in the evenings and can be found online on weekends at all different hours.
Don't need a lot of grouping or anything like that, but I like to see people running around regardless of where I am.

I'm just curious, but why transfer to Balmung? If you're worried about raiding, remember party finder is cross server now. Gilgamesh is already a big server, so you won't have to worry about being in ghost towns. :)

The main problem with your plan is we don't have Taru Tarus in this game.

Sargantanas seems to have a decent populated. Probably butchered the spelling of the name. Regardless, I believe Duty Finders are cross-server anyways, so which server you pick shouldn't interfere too heavily on your leveling experience.

If you're planning to transfer to Balmung, why not just start off on Balmung?

I can't create more than one on Gilgamesh because it is always locked for creation even though I already have one there. Else I would consider settling in.
I remember it taking me nearly a month to get that one alone. Just going to transfer to a super high population when I am ready this time and not waste my time waiting to create one.
For me it is really about nothing more than there being people everywhere.

I am not worried about getting groups, I like my servers to have tons of people running around regardless of where I am. So I guess I just need the highest pop NA server after Balmung and Gilgamesh.

@Canadane They will always be Tarutaru to me, just like you will always be Mithra.

@Kaedan I would sure love to, but I am pretty sure there is never a time you CAN create one directly on Balmung. I hear even after Maintenance it is spotty and usually doesn't happen, but even then my work schedule currently would never allow for me to be able to try for that anyways.

@Vexander Okay, that is one I was toying around with. Not as many people running around as I am used to but I guess it doesn't matter all that much in the end since I will be switching, I guess I just wanted lots of people running around while I was leveling too.

True, world transfer allows you to bypass the restriction, but it's not as hard to create a character on high pop servers as you think. Just has to be done in early, early morning or "Soap Opera" hours.

Except for Balmung. When I was able to create mine on Gilgamesh finally I was trying for Balmung, and this was over a year ago. Even at those early hours and after maintenance Balmung was still locked and I settled for Gilgamesh.
It took nearly a month for me even to get Gilgamesh.

I never saw Balmung open for creation and from what I read it pretty much never is these days regardless of time.

I have an alt on Siren and it's a fairly decent server. People are always running around, so I would suggest going there. You may even like it enough to stick around long term.
