Status Magick and Elemental Bonuses

One thing I still wish for from FFXIV is elemental bonuses and status magic to come back. It still baffles me that hitting Leviathan with Fire IV doesn't too anymore damage than a MNKs fifth Chakra.

Along with Status Magick too. Casting Berserk on a Palace Bird forcing it to be unable to use spells but increases it's physical damage. Casting zombie on a monster which makes WHM's holy do a bit more damage. I think FFXIV lacks a bit of strategy. Once you know your rotation and mechanics you only have a few more things you can plan for (WHM LB 3 during Raids if almost wiped is one of them) considering these elements play a big part in previous final fantasy games I would love to see them return. And would break the monotony of the same thing for just different enemies

As far as I can tell (from what I have heard on many occasions), they did this so that players would not be shunned from not being a particular class. A boss is weak to fire? Only black mages are wanted. A raid boss is strong against magic? Black mage would always get shunned. You know, that kind of stuff.
