[4.0] Upcoming NPC relationship system

So not long ago we learned there will be a new NPC relationship system being introduced in 4.0 where the WoL can befriend a NPC and if their friendship level is high enough that NPC basically become a "personal model" for the WoL and wears stuff the WoL crafts.

It is basically a Crafter only system made for NPC dress up.

So what do you think about this NPC relationship system? You think they may add a actual story around based on the different NPCs or just remain pure NPC dress up?

They actually said there was a story which would unfold as you helped them out and improved your rep with them. It sounds interesting. I will be curious to see how it pans out. Curiously this Miqote this time doesn't seem to be one of Rowena's girls as she still has her own name.

Is this their intent for Zhloe Antipoh?

NPC relationship from April Fool joke is officially a thing for 4.0 but Nerfed that the NPC is only in Friendzone relationship as a New System and New Side-storyline for Crafter Jobs.

it would be funny if the NPCs we meet in this Relationship system are the 1.0 companions and their story focus on explaining how their life developed after 1.0.

Funny? That'd be AWESOME.

I'm totally down with it as a feature, but I guess I fail to understand the point of it. I suppose it's cool that they'll wear the items you make for them, and it gives that ~Woah, technology!~ feeling, but... why?

Ultimately, there's definitely better things they could focus their efforts on, unless they're planning on making it available for other npcs as well. It would be awesome if we could gear our squadron in this way, for example. In fact, adding that relationship system to our squadrons in general would be cool!

Raising reputation with someone to unlock a storyline is pretty standard stuff in mmo's. I'll be interested to see where this design goes. Of course we know that people will be dressing up the females in skimpy outfits.

Personally I'll be putting all of them in garo armor. ;D

I believe they said the only things they can wear are the gears your character crafted themselves which is partly why it is Crafter Job system. Guess they wanted player to have reasons to start crafting the cosmetic gear they wanted instead of buying it from other players.

As for me when it comes to dressing up these NPCs I would mostly fit them with stylish looks. I'll admit I am a bit of a Vanity look addict when it comes to character's appearance so putting all of the female in skimpy outfits is less likely for me unless the look also suits their personality or I can make a proper mix of clothing parts to feel as if it is a stylish look they can walk around in.
