I'm not talking Copperbell Mines here, but when I'm in Shield Oath, and queue for a 50 roulette, I immediately need to re-enter stance. I'll lose stoneskin, too, but not protect.
Small QoL adjustment, I'm sure, but this annoys the crap out of me.

This happens on AST also, we lose our Diurnal/Nocturnal sect when we sync down. Would be nice if it stayed on, it annoys me when I go through the first couple pulls and then realize it. Possibly its too difficult to have it stay on in dungeons where that skill is available (like level 50 Roulette) but then still come off if you go into a dungeon too low for that skill (like copperbell mines)?
So that you don't have access to buffs and abilities that you're not supposed to have. I believe you lose all buffs as you sync down, it's actually weird if you don't lose protect.
My theory is it might have to do with how the value is calculated. There is a high chance that the calculation on the buffs stay the same as when you are of the max lvl, so in this case you actually lose/gain more from the stance applied before, hence why I would think it as such.
I haven't been paying too much attention on the buffs, but it would be pretty broken if Stoneskin applied gives you 3k shield instead of the synced value. Probably applies to other buffs as well.
This theory actually has a lot of weight. It's not necessarily the same thing, but I'll share something that happens with Titan-egi that may back this up.
A while back, me and a friend were duo-ing Ramuh EX as SMN+AST for fun mostly. I'd equip all my tank right-side gear, summon Titan, and then equip my right side gear. This left Titan with like 30k HP, which was a lot at the time.
In any case, we started noticing that sometimes Titan's HP would be reset seemingly at seemingly random times. By reset I mean they would suddenly be calculated by my INT right-side gear. After a lot of going through this (and dying, lol), we noticed that it was actually most buffs that caused this. Using Spur on Titan would immediately recalculate his HP. Cards had this effect too, as every time my friend would try a card on Titan, he'd lose his initial HP pool, because the game would use my right-side gear as the basis for calculating those buffs.
Seeing this, I wouldn't be surprised if this was the reason for buffs being removed entirely when you sync down.
