Bard Song Glamour

Unable to search as it seems the forums loathe mobile.


Since we got egi glamours recently, how about bard song glamours? Change the harp bard's use during songs to a flute, bagpipes or lute.

Haven't been on bard in a long while but doesn't the bow turn into a harp? Or did they whip a harp out of their tunic? I can't recall and usually have better things to do than look at a bard singing during a fight lol (buff bar is my bard song check :p).

If they just whip an instrument out of their back pocket then It would be pretty cool, little drums might be another cute one :)

We pull out a harp when we sing.

Just because it can be glamoured, doesn't mean it needs to be. I'd rather the devs spend their time creating new content for the game instead of finding new ways to change the appearance of things they have already created.

Summoner egi glamour isn't about "extra" aesthetics. Switching from arcanist to summoner would change the appearance of your summons, so people who really wanted to keep their carbuncle summons would either have to play as arcanist or lose it. Bards don't have anything else that they would lose, unless in the future they give a new buff that changes the appearance of your harp, and people who wanted to still have the harp appearance would lose it because they can't not use the new buff for efficiency.

I'm a Bard main, and even I think this is entirely unnecessary.

Songs only take like 1.5 seconds to cast, why glamour something you'll only see for almost a split second, if other party members even see it at all? It'll be completely pointless the day the devs decide to make songs instant cast too, and you know we're moving in that direction the way things are going.

At least Summoners had the legitimate complaint of their egis being ugly as sin, and barely representative of the actual primals.

Exactly this!

*shrug* It was just a random thought I had while cleaning as I had fond memories of FFXI BRD.

Please no bagpipes, they are the worst thing ever made by a human.

I kinda have to agree, seems pointless. However, I would not argue with a "song" emote where we pull out the harp and play continuously or with other instruments.
