What I would like to see in Character Creation

I would like to see added to character creation the ability to select emote sets. For example if I wanted to play Elezen but emote like a Miqote i would like to select an option in character creation that would allow me to change this. Or perhaps be a hyur who emotes like a la la. I think this would be cool. Also maybe some more height options for elezen. I like them just not that tall maybe if i could make them as short as Alphinaud that would be nuce too.

Separate horns and face for Au Ra. And all hairstyles for all races.

Yes please, I'd love to get my hands on Au Ra emotes as Miqo'te.

If they'd add Au Ra hairstyles to Miqo'te as well, I'd be in heaven. :o

Would also like this, but a mix and match system too. My fem roe would love to swipe pose from Elezen females and some of the sitting positions available to fem lala

While this does sound nice on paper it would require a massive amount of work.

We got 7 races (highlanders got unique emotes)

Lets say we got 20 emotes per race. Thats 140 animations if every race got one of the races animation sets. Multiply that by 7 and you got 980 animations the devs would have to make.

And thats not counting the genderspecific emotes. Then we would need 1960 animations

While true, it's a lot less than you make it out to be, because most animations could simply be converted, rather than redone from scratch.

The main issue there would probably be Lalafell, since they're the most "deformed" of the races. Not sure if those could be converted without looking choppy or otherwise awkward. Might well be they don't even have a compatible skeleton.

Well that seemingly doesn't stop NPCs that use other race specific animations and emotes like that midlander dude from the scholasticate questline using highlander poses and npc unique emotes (why is that even a thing...).


I'd like to see more cross options like many others that'd be really cool. Making a roegadyn lalafell? a highlander kitty girl? an eleezen aura? To be fair since we won't get a new race, they could put effort into doing that instead (unless there's going to be a surprise strike of Viera with that upcoming Return to Ivalice Raid)

We arent getting a new race. And at this point it is too late to come with suggestions for Stormblood launch content.

I hope we wont ever see cross bred races. Why even have different races if everyones going to be a mongrel anyway.

The latest animations added have all been similar for each race, so i dont see SE making older emotes available for all, with a few exceptions of course. As for Highlander animations on a midlander? Its easy, as they share the exact same skeleton for animation rig. So its literally just adding a new number to the list. For other races it wouldnt be that easy as it would require refitting for all races with their diffrent arm lengths, proportions etc.

Havent we already seen a cross breed? The one lady from the brume who is half hyur half elezen.
