Grand Company Change?

I'm thinking of changing companies. If I swap and go back will I go back to where I left off at lv50 Rank? Also if I go back do I have to redo all the quests from my original company?

I'm on Aether and currently Adders. I like the Black Forest but hate 99.9% of all of Adders gear. Any suggestions on Uldah or Maelstrom?

I think Maelstrom has the coolest looking gear. Entire reason I switched from Adders to it.

What do you mean exactly by suggestions? The only differences between the Grand Companies are the visuals of the gear you can buy from them. But if you mean which ones look better I'd say Mael has a good black/red theme going on for some of the Elite gear.

Keeps your rank intact and any seals (they just aren't usable). You also lose your PvP rank but it is stored if you ever go back. Squadrons transfer over but you have to do the promotion quest again if you want to rank up in the new GC. IIRC it's free the first time you change but costs 50k gil after the first change and has a cooldown of about 2 weeks.

Also lose access to bardings of the GC you leave.

Will Stormblood include a fourth Grand Company?

Maybe Ishgardian or Ala Mhigoan?

Everyone I've talked to from Flames says you don't choose them for the gear... if you can see if someone will link you all the in-game gear from Flames and Maelstrom for the job(s) you play and go from there.

You can walk up to the billmaster or whatever he's called in the gc's and try on all the gear and see which you like.

Adder's has rather meh gear, but pretty glass looking weapons
Maelstrom has nice red/black weapons/armor
Flames... eh, it looks basic military like ;)

No word yet on any other grand companies or factions in Stormblood, though that would be nice. Difficult from a lore perspective, but nice.
