Can we please just increase the post character limit or remove it entirely?

As the subject states..

Most of us end up just editing our post and pasting it in anyway.. It is a completely pointless restriction in these forums.

Is the intention for us to write a 2-sentence post that is meant to get the message across? Because that just won't happen. All it will do, for those that don't edit their post will force them to spam multiple posts in a row.

The post limit is also quite stupid. Why restrict a community from discussing things about the game?

The removal of the character limit would be a good start at least.

I think we could stand to increase the post limit before we increase the character limit, but both have their purposes.

Character limit in particular is really good at baiting people who don't know about editing into wasting their post count on "continued" messages.

I'd like it if the character limit on posts was removed as well.

I think the post limit is a good idea but the character limit should be increased by a couple thousand at least.

I mean it just makes it more annoying to read because their points are disjointed by having to scroll down through multiple posts.

I basically stopped using this forum for about two years for this reason alone. Oftentimes back then, I wanted to reply to topics with lengthy, concise messages, but couldn't because I'd have to cut about half of my text and it would end up incoherent. I ended up scrapping half my messages as a result, after putting effort into concise, detailed replies.

Generally in forums, if you post twice in a row, you get modded for it, so I couldn't separate my message in two posts, either. Ugh.

I only recently learned that you could bypass the character limit through editing your own post (and basically everyone does it), which led me to using the forum again.

Yes, and yes, please. The character and post limit is amazingly annoying.

Character limit should be removed.

vBulletin has this limitation option to prevent spamming. but on this forum, it's one active game account per one forum account so I don't think anyone will spam advertisement or rubbish post just to lose their account.

Agreed, there is no point to it, especially since we can simply wait to bypass it.

Just remove it already.
