Almost unplayable. Keep getting 90002 error on disconnect

I've searched and searched, but can't seem to find a solution to this problem. I recently returned, and after being forced to use a VPN to download the patch (which is ridiculous IMO) I've been playing for a few weeks. Following the issues the other night on the NA servers I keep getting disconnected every 5-10 minutes with the error code 90002. I've reset my router and modem. Reset my computer. It is hard wired to the router, not wifi. I logged into ESO last night and played for about 2 hours with 0 disconnects or huge lag spikes that would indicate a connection issue.

I'm really loving my time since returning to the game after over a year, but if I can't stay connected I"m not sure it's worth paying for. Is there a fix for this?

You're probably affected by the Level3/Ormuco routing clusterf**k. Go to arrstatus.com, find out the IP address of your server, open Windows command line (Run > cmd), and typ tracert followed by the IP address of your server. Post the results here.

Basically, the companies who own and operate the network infrastructure between you and SE's servers in Montreal are doing a terrible job of managing FFXIV's traffic, and SE themselves have no real control or say in the matter.

Many people seem to be able to get around these broken Internet routes by using VPNs like WTFast and Mudfish.

I'll check it out when I get home from work today, but VPNs are SO slow! Maybe if I paid for one it wouldn't be, but free ones that I had to use to download the patch was a snail. Gaming on that would be impossible IMO.

I didn't have this issue when I first started playing the game a year ago, and even when I came back it was fine until this last week. Just seems odd to me.

Oh well, if I can't fix it I guess it's on to another game :(

I'm having the same problem here. Its getting to the point where I can't play either. I've run a tracert myself, and some of level3 (New York, surprisingly) has some issues, 2/3 pings failed and it has some values above 100 ms right after (Montreal Level3). I don't know enough to say if this is the problem.

But I get kicked, and can't log back in because the game still thinks I'm logged in! 3102 error! I have to wait a few minutes to log back in, and it's so freaking frustrating.

I can't play the game like this, because I can't go in dungeons, do pvp, craft without fear, gold saucer, ANYTHING.
