When I started to unlock and level my drg and then see Estinien again
after he became a dragon
, had some effect. I wonder if lore-wise, some content needs be temporary locked as option by a loreholic player ;)

For certain spoiler reasons, it still wouldn't make sense even if you had completed the entire MSQ up to 3.5.
The 30-50 DRG quests take place before Heavensward, that's all there is to it. If you go back and do them afterwards, you're just going to have to think of it as a flashback.
The way it works, and we've known it to work since 2.55, is that when the patch is released is where it places in the timeline. Even though you've seen Estinien...altered post 3.X, it still happens AFTER the 2.0 Dragoon questline.
Aye, the ending of 2.0's CUL questline includes a very prominent scene with the Sultana and Lolorito (the latter features a few times) which would make no sense with events from 2.55-Lv51 HW quests.
IIRC something similar happens with Culinarians. I remember it being stated as to why that's not a problem / doesn't need working around though. IIRC it went like:
While officially time is 'frozen' in the year 7UE:5 / 7AE:1, time still flows on a patch-by-patch basis: 2.0 happened before 2.5 before 3.0 etc. Hence, the job quests are earlier in the timeline than post-expansion patch MSQ.
From what I heard, many of the quests are locked in a time bubble, so you just have to pretend you're going back in time as if the events were happening for the first time.
This makes sense. It will be nice the quest text have some sort of "when you are" hint so you can more easily travel back and forth.
It's probably easier for the devs if we just realize we're doing old content after new content. xP I'm still kinda curious what exactly happened with Estinien between fleeing and coming back. He's just like "ah yes, I'm alright, in control again. No hard feelings, yes?" *moves on*.
This is the case in most MMOs
