Scripts gear

Ok so I'm kinda new to gathering collectibles but I do have a general idea about how to go about gathering scripts. The thing I've been trying to find out is if there is any gear or anything really worth while that you would need to gather red scripts for, I've only been able to find gear that needs blue scripts to get. I haven't noticed much you can get with red scripts aside from some mats and tier 4 materia, is there really any point in gathering red scripts?

You can use red scrips to upgrade blue scrip IL180 gear to IL200.

You can also use Red Scrip to get Gathering, Perception, and GP tier 4 materia. If you merely go with the scrip gear, the materia won't mean much to you. If you go for the best gear possible, you'll blow up quite a few of those T4 materia overmelding the i190/i195 gear. And then blow up a bunch more come SB when you hit 70 and again seek the best melded gear.

Ok thank you for the info I was just wondering if there was some npc I was missing for red script stuffs. I don't know what items or where I would upgrade blue script gear at but I would more than likely get the better gear that I can meld to so getting the materia with red scripts is good lol

Goblin cups and dice exchange for the upgrades (one is craft upgrade the other is gathering, don't remember which is which.) There's a goblin who stands with Seika (tomestone gear upgrades NPC) who handles it.

But yeah, don't really need to know if you go with crafted and melding (included it in case someone else stumbles in here looking for that answer.)

On the topic of materia IV: the highest level Ixali quests also reward tier IV crafting and gathering materia. There's also an Ixali oaknot exchange for tier I - III crafting and gathering materia. Many of the gear pieces can be finished off with lower level materia depending on how you meld them.
