Ok I used to think I was pretty good at ninja but after watching a few random zurvan vids on youtube suddenly i'm not so sure.
It's probably my 4th job in terms of gearing priority. so it's currently sporting the 260 anima weapon, and a full 250 prototype Alexandrian set.
with this gear set my gear score is 252. and I can pretty reliably down the a11s dummy in sss and managed to drop a12s one twice. rest of my attempts it usually about 4%. didn't think that was to shabby being 3 levels under the requirements to enter a11s and 12s
act usually puts me about 2100-2150 over 3-4 minutes on a dummy. which seems to match up with the sss calculator website pretty closely.
in a few of these you tube videos see some massive amounts of dps and i'm a little lost as to how people can reach those numbers. like in xenos zurvan guide the ninja is hitting 3k dps at the start of zurvan before platforms drop. i'm struggling to stay above 2k there, because as the platforms fall away my positionals go to pot. and I don't think the 15-20 I levels is enough to whack out nearly 1000 extra dps.
leaves me wondering how the hell is that possible? and what am I doing wrong? or missing? suddenly feel quite sucky at ninja to be honest. be nice to figure it out and clear that damn extreme

The damage dealers in Xenos Zurvan EX video have iL270 and wearing BiS for their jobs :)
Someone I know playes NIN and was doing about the same numbers as you on dummy with that item level. -

Dummy DPS looks good, what you have to think about when it comes to fighting in a party is that the party composition matters for DPS, Xeno's group probably ran MCH, AST, DRG so that's around a 30% damage increase. You say you're also missing positionals, in the first phase you should be able to land all possitionals except for when the boss is completely turned towards the group.

01-24-2017, 12:03 AMNeeladont underastimate the ilvl.... our Nin is pointing around 2700-3000 on Zurvan through his opener (think around ilvl 265). Our group isn't set perfectly if we talk about constellations (no Brd/Mch/Drg) and party buffs. So yeah gear stats, food and pots are really important to calculate with - if you go for max dps.Quote:

Well you are talking about a 3 minute parse she just mentioned opener which is like 20-30 seconds so there is a big difference there.

but yeah enthauptet is right it belongs to the opener - to get max dps EVERY run is nearly impossible... there will always be situations were you have to adjust your rota cause of mechanics, skipping phases, grp member fails, own fails etc ;) – my opener is around 3100-3300 on Zurvan but the over all dps can greatly fall to < 2000 xD ... so yeah, don't worry to much about max dps... ^^'
