"Garuda Awakening" doesn't trigger -- MSQ is stalled

I'm leveling my first charater -- I'm at 52.

In progressing the main story questline, I got the quest to attune myself to Ifrit's materia to unlock him on hard mode. I did that, joined the hard-mode fight against Ifrit and defeated him.

At this point, I understand that Pamplyomo is supposed to give me a similar quest to unlock Garuda hard mode. But he doesn't -- he just sits there at a table in the Rising Stones with no new dialogue option.

Minfilia won't give me my next main story quest until I beat the three main primals on hard mode, and I can't do that because Pamplymo won't give me the quest!

Any idea what could be causing this? I know my quest journal isn't full because I've been getting and completing other new quests in the meantime.

I'm becomign frustrated that I've paid for Heavensward but haven't yet been able to access Ishagard-- any help you could offer would be great.

Go to the Waking Sands instead, I believe he is actually there for the quest as when it was initially released there was no Rising Stones.

oh my goodness thank you, that's exactly what it was! He does appear in the Rising Stones as well at the same point in the story, but the quest dialogue doesn't trigger there.

Glad it worked! If you ever wish to do them as well the Extreme version of atleast the first three Primals should be accessed from the Sands as well if I remember correctly. Not until after Titan Hard though I think.
