Musings about what to do with elemental materia

A while ago a few of us received a bag full of elemental material from a rash of POTD runs and were thinking of creative uses that SE might consider for them. Here are a few we thought we'd share. Feel free to comment or add your own:

• Materia that provides element-specific charges for crafted items. For example, lightning material slotted on crafted lamps or gear would charge the crafted item with a permanent white light effect.
• Materia that provides a fun, non-stat modifying effect for a short time on use.
• Materia from different elemental bases could be combined to produce different colors or effects when slotted into glam gear.

There are already uses for the stuff:

• Turn Grade IV/V into Mutamix to get good materia
• Attach it to gear you are going to desynth (each materia is +5% success rate)
• Put it on junk gear you're spiritbonding
• put it on junk gear for weekly achievement, to bring in some Lalafell squadron recruits

if POD Materia is Grade IV elemental you can sell it for a high price or turn it in for sand , Relic step that requires around 70 sand and 70 Umbrite stones. I saved mine to complete a full relic.

Synth into consumable that adds minor dps effects on weapon.
Makes alchemists very happy.

Elemental materia could make weapons have base damage boost and fire on the blade like the Ifrit weapons. Would need to add a holy and dark materia if those dont already exist...

Early in 3.0 they were useful for gathering. Needed to hit certain levels of elemental resistance for bonuses.
