I think it'd be quite helpful if the search for item prompt could search your minion, orchestrion, mount, etc, menus as well. So it could tell you if you have a song or whatever have you.
"Searching for Cherry Bomb in player and retainer"
"Found 1 in inventory, and 1 in minion log".
Ideally it'd just tell you somehow on the item's tooltip without having to do that (background has a subtle green check mark to recognize it as a collected collectable maybe?), but if not that then perhaps this option?

Suggested something like this a long time ago so yeah I support it.
My suggestion was aimed more at things like folk lore manuals or specialist books. Because at one point I think I bought a couple of the books twice only to realise I already had them when I tried to use them. Deep.
But yeah orchestration rolls, triple triad cards, minions, mounts, folklore books, crafting books.
Even just a little tick in the items tool tip saying you already have this would be great. -

Agreed. If the item is unique and untradeable, then the system the system can recognize that we already have it in the associated list and block us from buying or lotting on a duplicate, but for tradeable ones, it doesn't give any indication. (Even the untradeable ones, it doesn't indicate until you try to buy it. What if we just wanted to check what all is available to consider for possible later purchases?)
I don't care whether it's a tooltip indicator or an extension of the Search function, but one way or another, it would be good to be able to check which offered items of these types we already have. -

Just wanted to add to the request that if there could be either arguments added to the code or a setting, it could be quite nice to be able to see if an item is being sold as well.
For example, you have 2 kupo nuts on your retainer being sold for 10,000,000 gil separately - sweet delicious kupo nuts. And then on another retainer you have 3, bundled together for a fair price of 9,999,999.
It would be able to list out the two retainers, two nuts sold separately under the one retainer, and then the three bundled together on the second - including the price they're set for.
I've had a number of occasions where I've wondered if I put up items in stock that I have in my inventory, and unfortunately the search for doesn't include your retainer's auction list. Of course it needs to be specified that it's up for sell, otherwise people might think they'll have it when they get back and not actually have it lol. -

01-28-2017, 02:50 AMNiwashiIt's good that it shows up in the window (I want to be able to see what all dropped anyway, otherwise I might think a chest hadn't been opened), but just like we can't select "Need" if we don't qualify to roll that, don't let us select either "Need" or "Greed" if we don't qualify to get the item at all. Have the roll window come up with "Pass" as the only button that isn't grayed out, rather than waiting until we press Need or Greed and only then telling us we aren't allowed to do anything but pass, so we have to select again.Quote:
