Yoshi-P, I hope your bring back the feeling of questing together

Ever since Leves became useless for experience and partying, nobody does them together anymore.

Back in the day, the feeling of leve sharing and linking for experience points with a goal, made it a real team effort and bonding time.

While now people will only get together to grind, power-level or raid, its just not the same as questing together.

I agree. I enjoyed the game way more back when we could just link leves with ppl we like playing together and have fun.

IMO grinding is boring...and PL made it even more boring.

Hopefully the original FFXIV will come back with the original leve mechanics when it returns as a spin-off game! /o/

This is the part I really agree with.

I don't think leves, essentially a daily quest system, should have ever been the focus of this game. The nature of repeating the same quests over and over became horribly tedious. They should have always been supplementary - a secondary leveling option, rep grinding, a way to make money, etc. The only real fun part was when people got together as a group to do them (my LS would have a leve night, which was fun).

However, I would like to see story-driven leveling (traditional MMO questing) take more of a center stage. It's what my husband and I really enjoy doing when we play an MMO together. Again, I think the leve system had its flaws. But when my husband and I would play together, we would go to the leve counter, pick up our leves, and set out. It's the closest thing we had to when we played other quest-based MMOs such as WoW, Warhammer or Aion. Pick up our quests and set out together.

Take that away, and all there is left is the grind, which is not fun.

Oh, and this PLing business? Garbage. I will have no hand in creating high level noobs who don't know how to play their class. IMO, PLing is just a form of cheating and it leaves a bitter taste in my mouth that the people creating this game advocate it.

At this point, it feels like the game devs are at a loss of how to implement meaningful content and are just trying to expedite the leveling process to make it go by in a forgetful blur. It's become more empty than ever. I'm afraid this game is taking two steps forward, one step back.

I pray 2.0 will be different.

Grinding quests is still grinding. I seriously do not see the distinction. I've played a limited amount of MMOs, but every single one is a grind in its own way. I seriously do not understand this mindset or what you're looking for.

That said, leves are not useless at all. I still enjoy doing them. You can't do 3 stars when you're the base level anymore... is this what you think makes it useless?

no, it has more to do with if you do a leve and compare the sp to a grind or a pl party the sp is completely worthless so you can't get a group together anymore for them. people complained you could do a leve party and link leves before and get 100k in 3-4 hours before because it was too much sp, but now people are glad to go out and get 400k+ in the same length of time power leveling.

I'll never ever do leves in group never again, even like they are now.
I'm ok with group quests, not LEVES

They need to stop with the solo sidequests content and make some interesting party based quest chains now.

There really isn't much to do as a group in this game anymore than mindless grind and Ifrit.

Quest 1 > Quest 2 > Quest 3 > NM fight

This is 2011 my friend, people hate group content and group based questing. Solo only.

ya know, there is a type of games called rpg's that do just that. that's like playing a fps game and complaining that people kill stuff.

I don't mind if the leves system remained solo purposed, but please introduce some type of activity that brings people together and make it casual fun.
