Lions & Tigers & Tonberries (Or Lack Thereof), Oh My!

Greetings!

I hope everyone had a wonderful holiday! Many fried chocobo were eate... err...Anywhoo to the point!

As I meandered through the Ver. 2.0 notes (and subsequent road-map) I noticed there wasn't very much information regarding implementation of more monster families.

Nothing is wrong with the current monsters in the game. I like killing dodos or raptors as much as the next Lalafell... But sometimes I just want to poke a tonberry!

I know there are other players that are out there thinking "I really wish I could go fight a group of -insert name of your favorite mob here- but they currently aren't in the game!"

I know Sahagin and what looked like Giants were depicted in the 2.0 concept art, but is there any chance that we'll see additional monster families before 2.0? Even something vague like "Possibly" would do as a dev./rep. response, as long as I know there's hope.

I liked the tonberry NPCs more than fighting them. That knife-to-the-crotch-for-revenge-of-past-transgressions move was devastating.

Someday, I want a korrigan pet, though

If they add tonberrys they need to add a decent system for Everyones Grudge, I loved the FFXI system of lazy ppl get oneshotted (I was that lazy person).

But for mob families I want added Behemoth (I believe I saw concept in the 2.0 things) Mandragora, Arcane type mobs (like the magic pots, dolls and Iron Giants).

Also what about some bosses that were in previous FF games, I wanna see full HD elemental archfiends from FFIV.

I agree, I'd like to see the amount of monster families increased whenever 2.0 comes along. One thing I love about other MMO's is that each monster family is different and weak to different things, and their weaknesses, when someone decides to exploit said weakness, is noticeably more effective.

there was a survey of what FF mob would we like to see in the game, i don't know if it was official. but we an only hope SE saw it and listened (i believe by the end the thread looked more like a list of every mob that had been in FF, so plenty for them to choose from)

Goofy looking sahagin, moombas, and a return of evil bunnies of doom from XI.

Would like to see the Ixion horse mobs from XII, but a oversized tonberry HNM and then some mini Tonberry normal mobs would be nice!

Would be nice to at least know from the dev's if something might be seen before 2.0 in 2013.
