It implies he just blocked a blow with that hand, the reverberation of the blow extends across the limbs, to his fingertips moreso as it was blocked by a hand, and exerts force really fast to which the body will re-establish normalcy normally. (See: Slow motion hits on a body...stop the frames and it looks weird. See it in motion and nothing special about it.)

Yeah my brothers fingers are like that. Apparently its due to having double jointed fingers.
