When is it ideal to start the new savage tier?

I've been gone several months and just returned this week. I main DRK and was i236 back when max was 240ish. Coming back it is a bit surprising to see 270 being the new high end gear. With that said, what would be a good item level to start savage progression on the current tier? In the past week I've gotten up to 248, but have been a bit reluctant to join a learning party for fear of being undergeared.

As soon as you hit minimum ilvl for the turn you want to enter. :o

It's 245 for A9s, so just go for it. Will be fine for learning partys. :)

Savage minimum Ilv is enough (even a bit lower is fine with a full group).
Savage is more aimed towards good players, gear helps, but a good player is most crucial ;-)

Totally agree with AmeliaVerves

for tank i245 to enter the duty in raid finder and i think 700 accuracy and you're good
or any ilvl with full party but still like 700 accuracy is ok

245ish should be fine my group went in at ilvl 242-245 and did just fine when the content first came out. We cleared a9s and a10s in the first week, the raid tiers easier this patch but a lot of fun too so enjoy yourself.
