Will Cross Server Party Finder Affect Server Populations?

Do you guys think the addition of cross server party finder will have much of an affect on server populations? Is anyone planning on transferring to less populated servers now that finding PF groups will no longer be an issue? I just transferred off of Balmung because I wanted to purchase a house, and the deciding factor for me was cross server PF, just curious if others are thinking similarly.

I think it all depends really some people really like their friends, and fc etc on their current server so aernt willing to do a transfer. But I can see someone in your situation needing to change if one of your goals was to get a house. But I dont figure if it effected anything that it would be anything to major.

if anything it will help those who wish to raid but can't afford to transfer to a raiding server by letting them form a static with all likeminded people from the same datacentre.

Doubtful. A lot of people value the idea of a massive world. You simply aren't going to get that on low pop servers. Virtually everyone I know who transferred to Balmung from low pop servers have talked about how much they loved seeing people around even if they didn't interact with them. It'll certainly help the raid scene since people from say, Zalera, can pull from Gilgamesh. But the actual server population won't change with any noticeable impact until 4.0. Speaking of, I do think the cross server PF could encourage new players in Stormblood to stay on servers that aren't Gilgamesh or Balmung though. So it may help populate other servers down the road.

I would like to party up with my friends from Hyperion again. Since moving to Excalibur I've done a lot more than I did when I was back there. With this being said, I left some people behind who were firm on staying with the server and miss partying with them often. Very well needed with potential to grow in the future.
