PS3 RIP expectations

We all understand, that in a chain PC-PS3-PS4 the weakest is PS3. The game right now we all play- is a game for PS3, because PS3 gives the developers the limits- in graphic, in common performance

I wonder- how the game will change, when there will be no such limits? Right now we have lots of instances, we have a very cute graphic engine, but still it is "far" from those, which were used in Archage or Black Desert, for example

So, will we get the real quality changes in 4.0 or it will be the same game, but without PS3 support, how do you think?

I'm pretty sure it'll be mostly the same, except for a few tidbits here and there, many of which you won't even notice because they're only for the devs in the back-end. Especially on the baseline-level, where you can refer to the minimum specs for PC to see what power budget they have for that.
I bet anyone who thinks of sweeping model, shader and texture changes, proper physics and whatnot will be sorely disappointed. But that's just me.

I wondering if they will update graphics on all the zones if any. Did you notice any changes on that swimming video as far as graphics?

I doubt very much there will be any major changes in existing areas right off from the start. Updating them would be a lot of work, which I bet they would rather spend on developing new areas.
What it mainly will mean is probably that the developers will be less restricted when developing new zones.
There may also be numerous minor quality-of-life changes where the PS3 was a restriction even if we players did not realize it.

The answer to this is still not known. In theory now they have 1 less weak chain for the developing process. There are some more limitations though. Like the server infrastructure, the game's graphic engine which comes with its own limits and obstacles, the dev team themselves and lastly the budget they have. 1 less weak chain is a good thing but we have to wait and see if 4.0 will bring any improvements big or small.

The potential is huge, I can't emphasise that enough, for positive changes. It is up to the developers to use the potential.

I dont seeing the upping the graphics in awhile but we will likely see more QOL changes and new features.
Would be nice with a dx11 client on ps4 though, if its even possible

I hope they evolve char editor at least... or I wont play that long on my PS4 =3=
No fun gaming if your char is ugly thin and flat like a toast!

If nothing else I am hoping that they plan for one of the big announcements for 4.0 to be updated character customisation for all of the existing playable races. We're not getting a new playable race, after all, which is a good thing as far as I'm concerned. More so if it's due to plans to increase the options available to us already.

I personally dont care about improvements in graphics at all. Number 1 priority for me would be to make sure the games performance on ps4 doesnt drop at all. Im not a tech guy, so idk if it would.
