Chocobo's should be the only mount?

Hmm...how again is having multiple mounts making this game a "WoW" clone? Oh my god, It's Final Fantasy, it can't be a Final Fantasy if we are riding things other than Chocobos!


So I guess EVERY SINGLE NUMBERED FF GAME is a WoW clone, because they ALL have multiple mounts other than Chocobos.

Did people really forget about all those cars, planes, trains (regular and living ghost versions), motorcycles, airships, boats, canoes, Gargants, Shoopuffs, helicopters, rocket ships, submarines, dune buggys, snowboards, Dragons, GIANT SPACE WHALES, Flying Colleges, hovercrafts, ferrys, gondolas, and my personal favorite: Snowmobile.

Seriously people, lighten up. Also:

as long as the new mounts are still FF related, wtf is the problem? ppl will whine no matter what i guess.

Not a big deal breaker for me, but yes I rather just have chocobos like in all other FF's. I do not like the idea of Goobs and Drakes or whatever they are going to come up with.

But as I said, if they choose to implement it I am not going to cry everyone here a river :P

well, they would only be obtainable to people who stick around till 2.0

I'm fine with drakes, and I can live with goobues, but using an ahriman as a mount is just stupid. They aren't the type of thing that should be able to be tamed, and even they could why would you want to ride one? No comfortable way to sit on it, plus they move all over the place when they flap their wings... It'd be like trying to hold onto a big beach ball in a pool where everyone is trying to knock you off.

If you don't want a goobber don't get one simple.

As above said though, I always imagined Ahrimans to be slimey and they are round, how do you even stay on that.

I think the comment made prior was in respect to tradition, and not a simple blanket statement. In fact, I am fine with other mounts or forms of transportation, as they have served a purpose in many other FF games. Examples would be the Gargant(IX), the Car(VIII), the mini airships of XIII, Shoopuf(X), Canoe(various), Tiny Bronco(VII), etc.

You'll notice one thing about these other forms of transport though. None of them really overlap, and have a specific purpose. This makes each one unique. Will this Gobbue carry a unique purpose I wonder? As you said, each new type of mount/transport has reason to fit into the world it was created for. Such is the beauty of an FF game.

OP alot of them are not mounts. like the airship or ferry we already have in FF14 is not a mount. a mount is player controlled, but hey that is splitting hairs your point is valid, there has been alot of mounts in FF over the years the dragon in FF5. (please give us that so dragoons don't feel so hard done too)

but i really think the monster mounts are yoshi having a little joke at us :P

not that i care either way, bring monster mounts or don't. its not going to change the way the game plays

anyway your last statment was the best. the one constant in FF is that things change, its tradition :P
