deleted quest item

I am new and deleted a quest item out of my inventory because i didn't read the quest completely it's a story quest and i don't know how to abandon the quest or recover the item can anyone help please

You might have to go to the journal and start over.

What's the quest name and what was the item?

A Mizzenmast Repast and i deleted the shoes

Should be able to buy them from the Calamity Salvager in any of the 3 main cities.

Glad to see you've got them back :).

There are a few quest items that are 'real' rather than 'virtual' and so, as you discovered, go into the main inventory and not the quest item section: other examples are a Hi-Potion (the green one) for an early La Noscea quest (which you may actually have done as I see you're an Arcanist), later on there's a meal which you get given to deliver to someone and it's easy to forget that.
