Disabling Novice Network chat

Seeing that the /novicenetwork command is still bugged, and no info is given on how to disable the chat channel, I summarize a work-around:

1. open System → Character configuration
(or type /characterconfig
or K (default keybind))

2. Select Log Window Settings → General tab → General under Log filters

3. Under Chat tab uncheck Novice Network and click Apply

4. Close the Log Filters window after you have clicked Apply

I wouldn't recommend following the advice to disable Novice status altogether, as it possibly incurs an EXP loss.

This is not true! You'll never LOSE XP and the only time you'll not get BONUS XP is if you're partying with a mentor:

It's far easier to simply "/nas off" and be done with the whole tedious system, and the more tedious random ninja channel joins you never ask for or are asked if you want.

/novicenetwork is only for mentors. /nas toggles the New Adventurer status for novices.

So you start by saying it's not true, only to then point out in the very next sentence when it is true?

Quite a few players have the mentor status, and it's quite common to get grouped up with one of them. Every time you do while on a level 20 or below class, you'd be losing out on that XP bonus by having turned off your New Adventurer status. Maybe that doesn't matter to you, but to anyone who cares, it is a real effect of the "/nas off" option.

I haven't been able to get into this novice network channel at all, the channel is ticked on my chat channel, but neither /n or /novice allows me to chat in the channel, it doesn't appear in the chat selection thingy either.

(assuming you are a Sprout) you have to be invited by a Mentor to access the Novice Network. Find someone with a crown by their name and ask if they could invite you to the channel. If you're not a Sprout or a Mentor, you cannot get access to it.
