Random Unlikely Scenario Question

So just for fun....

What do you think will happen if in 4.0 Square Enix gave Machinist a Gunblade Mod as the new Skill for 4.0?

It is obtained on the first Machinist 4.0 quest at level 60 and when active it change the Machinist combat mechanic to a Melee DPS and the basic 1,2,3 skills are changed to a melee attack skills with the Machinist getting a 150% passive damage buff for having the Gunblade Mod Skill equipped with the RNG chance increase from 50% to 80%.

It can not be activited with Gauss barrel as that will switch MCH combat back to it original Range Combat.


The Gunblade Mod is also set as a level 1 skill so it can be used for even low level content below level 60. Along with the new level 61 to 70 skills being made to focus on Gunblade Mod only and will not work with guass barrel mod but the Guass Barrel skills will not work on the Gunblade mod as well. They can also be used for level 51 to max level contents.


Remember this is a random unlikely 0% chance at happening Scenario that will never happen for FF14 unless SE is crazy enough to completely change a Job's original combat design and say "Hey now a Job can be either Range or Melee Combat" so have fun thinking up what may happen.

I've wanted a gunblade to appear again since FFVIII. I can't stand MCH's RNG nature though. I get the concept you're coming from though, with loading the revolver part of the blade and all for extra damage. That's pretty cool. The turrets kind of throw it off too and gunblades didn't have any kind of support that comes with what MCH is.

Oops forgot to include the increase to RNG chance from 50% to 80%.

As for the Turrets well got to blame the Garleans for that. One thing noticed about Garleans and their Gun"weapon" combat style is that sometimes they love having Turrets to support them no matter the form of Hands, basic turrets, or etc. :p

*Shakes fist at the Garleans.* Also, the increased RNG just made me go from crying into laughing and back into horrible crying spasms of pain. *Also notes sig* Yup....

What would happen to the MCH LB then if it's both a melee and a ranged job?

people will find that one of the two modes does more DPS than the other mode and everyone will use the "good" one. how about that Fist of Wind?

They'd much sooner make a Gunblade a different job entirely.

I'm still throwing a bone saying that the Gunblade Job may be a new Job for 5.0 either as a Tank or DPS Job considering how strongly it has been hinted these past Main Storyline that Garlean Empire is 5.0 even the part where Yoshi-P said he is saving Doom Train for something special involving when we make out way to the Garlean Empire months back when someone asked him about Doom Train. Though DPS will be suited if they want to give it Lionheart as the LB3.
