Jump potons and Mentor

I still don't have a true solid opinion about jump potions in this game, but it can happend.

I think the mentor system in this game very weak by the fact It not help once you reach the max level and have all your rotation. (something that should be good with the jump potions implemented).

So in this game mentor is besically someone that know the boss simple mechanics, basic PVP or simple crafting. And want to help new players that have no idea of what is going on.

And hire come the new player that use the jump potion, they will not be able to help in all scenario. Because they will miss some c boss mechanics and content. They only solution I can think right now is maybe use the mapping the real to lock the mentor not the clear so if they wanna become mentor they should do the dungeon for it.

If I recall (and with a quick google search) they also need 1000 dungeon runs and 300 commendations, so your not going to have a fresh level 60 (which they would also need 1 of each role) spouting out incorrect information. I do apologize if this is not what you ment as your wording is a bit strange to me.

Pre-Req for Mentor

I think that even if ppl use jump potions, they learn it through lvl50 dailies or leveling roulette. Most of you see it as an Armageddon with the jump potions. I didn't refer to the movie, but now that I think of it...Maybe the potions could blow up the meteor...Baa! Been so long! I think players need a day or two to practice and they get the hang of it, just wait and see what happens mista Felien!

Mentorship has additional dungeon (think its 1,000. But it may be just 500) and commendation (300 comms) requirements; getting a 60 in each role isn't enough at all.

I got the point of 1000 instances and 300 commendations.

But you can achieve that quiet easy ignoring some old content. Remember you do this sync to the original lvl. I gonna do a short list of some that could be hard if you have never done it on the original lvl before.

Maybe with the trial roulette:
The Chrysalis (the lb part)
The Steps of Faith

Only via mentor:
The Howling Eye (Extreme)
The Navel (Extreme) (We know the pain)
The Bowl of Embers (Extreme)
Thornmarch (Extreme) (No way to help)
The Whorleater (Extreme)
The Striking Tree (Extreme)
Akh Afah Amphitheatre (Extreme)
Heavensward all primals to in EX when stormblood come out.

Btw I have done some extreme on my mentor roullet so is not impossible.

And just because you did them synced years ago doesn't mean you remember them now. Or even properly learned the fights back then. Strats change, and if you had a static that did one strat, it may not be effective for randoms.

You can always pull up an old guide too and use that to teach too >.>

The problem is that 4.0 will be full of people in df that have doing and seeing things for the first time at lvl 60+.
Tanks and healers that dont know how to play.
You start to see failed dungeons runs.
I dont want this at all.
I stoped playing this game at 2.3, started from lvl 1 and so far its more easy to lvl up that it was in 2.0. This game dont need to take the ad things from wow.

The jump potions only (from my understanding) cover the MSQ quests and dungeons. I don't think that they include optional/sidequest content, such as Ex Primals, 24-mans, or the 8-man raids. Which you need everything but Coil from ARR to unlock Mentor roulette (including the two Hildibrand trials and the old Relic Chimera/Hydra trials), so I don't think those that just the job potion would be able to unlock mentor so easily. They would still have to unlock and clear this content.

Plus, as you know, they would still need 300 commendations, and 1,000 dungeon runs, and those take time to get. And to get the comms, they would have to actually learn how to play their jobs properly, and learn how to handle mechanics properly. People in this game have very little tolerance for those with poor performance.

It will also have a Level potion, to lv60. If they end up implement them

I know this forum is full of bravado, myself notwithstanding, but whenever I see people being stupid in the actual game, I very, very rarely see them being called out on it. The most common negative response is leaving without a word, with most people being patient and/or offering advice. I know it's different in extreme/raid content, but in dungeons? Salt is rare in my runs.

I personally feel the tolerance is actually quite high. And from my experiences, commendations tend to go to the nice/communicative people first, the good players second.

That aside, I concur that 1000 dungeons should be more than sufficient to teach a person both willing and able to learn enough to give rudimentary knowledge back to newbies. It's 334 hours of dungeon time at only 20 minutes each. If you haven't learned by then, you never will - no amount of leveling or MSQ can fix that.
