Stormblood Itemization Suggestion

Moving forward into Stormblood, could the unique flag on raid and tomestone gear be removed? It would be nice to be able to do different meld sets for different jobs within the same role.

For example, on Augmented Shire Custodian's Circlet (fending set), it would be nice to carry two of these to meld one with skill speed for WAR and one with determination for PLD. It is already possible to own two of the same piece, however, this requires utilizing two retainers to change jobs, which can be unappealing to other players in your group.

I'd just feel happy if it remembered the melds for that particular job. V_V I'd kill to have the Monster Hunter decorations systems.

For those that don't know the glory that is Monster Hunter: armor and talismans can have slots. Decorations go into these slots. Each piece of armor, talisman and decorations can have specific numbers toward skills and at certain number thresholds, you get a skill. You can save the same gear with various melds of decorations for different skills.

Unlike Monster Hunter, though, materia gets destroyed. :\ (Goodbye dreams~)

i don't know what this means as i've never played wow, but sure.

I was thinking along the lines of having an FFXI skirmish body that's good for SAM and one that's good for PLD, they have different stats maybe, but the same item name.

WoW has set bonuses, procs, on-use effects, and legendary items that change abilities and class mechanics. Please don't bring it down to FFXIV's level.

Would love seeing that option, especially when it comes to blm/smn. Having two sets or at least two of some of these items would make it so much easier since I do not meld SS on my smn but I need it on blm. However having that option when it comes to different set compositions that would be great too, let's say one set for savage, one for primals, one for min/maxing stats & melds etc. I do know most of the content can be run without armor but my point is, I do miss farming and min maxing gear sets for multiple jobs/characters that sadly all other games are offering, putting it into ffxiv wouldn't be such a bad thing.

Pretty sure it's been said that they will not bring equipment that will change effects on skills like what was in FFXI (I think that was there, too?). They don't want to pressure people into using specific gear because of a single skill that would then enforce exclusion-ism.

So if I'm understanding, you want something akin to materia gear-slots.

If so, that would be nice. Meld it with say 2 crit and save that as Materia Set 1. Then create a new one (that blanks it out) and meld 2 ss. Save that as Materia Set 2. Obviously you still need to meld it but it would be nice for gear that is shared.
