Suggestion: Join on friend option

(First time poster, pls be kind)

Haven't we all experienced that wonderful moment where someone in a party dc's, or leaves and has to be removed? Then we have the trouble of waiting for a replacement.

I know so many times we've all asked friends and fc members to queue in progress to help us out and usually it works in about 2/3rds of cases I think, but those other times when it doesn't are really annoying because, as the joiner, you now have to do the entire run again with some random people whilst your friend still waits, or you quit out putting more people in the same situation.

Why not just implement a "Join party" button on the r-click menu in the fc member list, or linkshells or friends list, whatever. That way it makes it faster to get in and help them out.

I'd really would appreciate to have this.
I don't mind helping people out, every time I queue I'd already set join in progress as well.
But I also know the situation you describe. There you are, wanting to help someone out, just to realise: Oh, I joined in progress, but hey, that is not the group i wanted to help.

Sounds good. But...
It may cause some problems. In other mmorpg people tend to kick random players near last boss to let their friends or guild members have exp/loot/clear/etc. Don't really want to see this happen in this game.

That's a good point I hadn't considered but doesn't that still rely on a majority vote to kick people? I can't see it happening in most cases but in the few that it does happen in it would suck.

Make it so you can only use it after a minimum wait time and a certain timeframe until duty expires maybe. Like wait 10min and/or have a max of 10min on clock left to complete will make the option available. Just an idea... was thinking about it before especially if you tr y to jump in as tank wait 3 min while ur friends confirm recruitment up but you won't get a pop even with all languages ticked... then a new duty pops >_<

Have the 'join friend' option disabled if the party kicks someone?

Or have it disabled if the party kicks someone after a certain amount of time/progress has passed?

What if the joining friend doesn't get the completion and can't roll for loot? So they're only there to help out a friend?

Wanted this for a long time.

Can't tell you how many times someone in an LS has piped up anyone able to heal/tank vault in progress last boss or something like that. Only to queue it and get thrown in with a completely different group.

Was one occasion a while back now. Summer time. Someone asked for a tank at the last boss. I queued got a different party. Someone else queued got a different party a third person queued and got a different party again. 3 ppl trying to help one guy out and all get stuck in different party's. Then those party's probably get mad cos we left straight away... and just docked around iddylshire for half hour.

Doesn't help anyone really.
