PS4 Digital Download issues: HELP

A couple days ago I bought a new PS4 and upgraded my copy of FFXIV from PS3 to the 4.
On my new PS4 I connected to the same PSN I had on my ps3, and put in the upgrade code. It downloaded Heavensward pretty fast but when it got to downloading Realm Reborn my download speed dropped to nothing and it took all day and all night.
I woke up this morning and it was finally done so I launched the game, connected my SE account, and now it will not download the patch. Ive tried 5 billion times, I have tested my internet connection and it says im connected with a download speed of 5mbps, but when it tries to download the patch it drops to basically nothing. Im trying a wired connection now and still no luck. It keeps dropping the download a quarter of the way through with the error "unable to download patch files" why is it doing this, how to I fix it?

PLEASE HELP i am going to lose my mind.
