Quick Question, Current Gather/Perception Needed to Get Everything in 3.4

Hello all, I have recently returned to the game after a year or so layoff. I have outfitted my miner in full hq ironworks gear and tools and currently without overmelding have 858 Gathering and 860 Perception (hit the 650gp I read about too). I still have a good bit of wiggle room to add stats b/c I haven't overmelded anything yet, can you guys please tell me how much more I need of each stat to get everything currently in-game, thanks. =)

I can't tell you minimums mostly because I am past them. But I can get anything currently in game.

Augmented Mineleep's Pickaxe / Fieldkeep's Hatchet, High Mythrite Sledgehammer / Scythe, iL190 Ironworks armor, iL170 accessories, everything meldable is pentamelded. Gathering 928, Perception 905, 683 GPs. This gets me 91% / 12% HQ on the newest nodes and all available bonuses.

I will strongly recommend getting to 700 GPs with food.

oh ok so even at 900+ theres still room to fail, ok that's good to know then, I need to eventually penta-meld everything as high as possible, thanks

I've melded my i190 ironworks to have 934 Perception/Gathering and 700+ GP
Prefer spending Gil on melds rather than buying food.

TBH, you will always suffer the 95% cap unless you use an ability. I have just the standard Augmented class specific gear & pre-lvl60 accessories melded to get 650GP & I can gather everything. I do miss out on the really high stat bonuses of 60*** nodes but it's not game breaking. The HQ Ironworks gear is great & overmelding only really needed if you have money to throw away.

The "base" gathering chance cap is 95%, plus the difference between your level and the item's level.

Level 60 gathering level 54 items? 95% + 6% = 101%, capped at 100%.
Level 56 gathering level 54 items? 95% + 2% = 97% max.
Level 60 gathering level 60 items? 95% + 0% = 95% max.

Of course, you can always use skills to bump that, this only applies to the base gathering chance as determined by your Gathering score.

What gathering do I need for 95% gathering changes of 3-star mats (for 250 ilvl gear crafts)? My 876 gathering gives me 88%. I use +15% gathering buffs for 100%, but can't use HQ buff.

You need 860 Gathering to get the top tier materials (Teak logs, etc.) instead of high Perception, I have 810 Perception and even 780-790 is good enough. to get everything in my experience.

Well you are looking at 860 Gathering anyway to get to the 4-star stuff, so that should do it. It will get you 95%
