So uh... About those Smn glamors?

I haven't been keeping up with the forums or the live streams quite as much as I used to the first year and a half XIV was re-released, but I do remember them saying we would get Egi glamors in by the end of the 3.x series and well.. here we are, nearly at the end with, what, maybe 1 major update and a minor one to follow (3.5, 3.55) before 4.0 and still no word.

Unless I've missed the announcement that the project was scrapped for (insert reason here). I was really looking forward to this since I main Smn and thought it would be pretty neat. It didn't even have to be all that elaborate, but still having some other options for Egis appearances than that same 3 (5 if you include both Carbuncles) we've had since 2.0 would be kinda nice. It's just a relatively small QoL change to be honest. I'm not even asking for brand new Egis (as in they have new abilities), just new appearances to the Egis, or ones to match existing primals (and future primals going forward).

When it's done

"Please look forward to it" just like housing fixes and a million other things that were promised years ago. Until then we'll fart out half assed semi-copies of 2.0 content.

Don't worry.... when you do get it - it will probably be overwhelmingly disappointing - look forward to emerald/topaz carby only.

It's been delayed, again. They have said this will be implemented at a date to be determined later in essence. They have not provided any idea of when that may be other than likely sometime in the 4.0 life cycle.

Yes, it sucks and is lame.

They talked about this quite extensively at the LV Fan Fest recently. I can't recall the exact words but I think coloured Carbuncles are (hopefully) coming in 3.5 with more advanced glamours underway for later. I think YoshiP said something about them still discussing which egi glamours would suit which 'base' egis l but I may have dreamt that part. In any case it was clear that it was actively being worked on.

Ah, bummer. Pretty sure they originally said they would be coming around 3.3-3.4 and this was back before HW launch iirc. Kinda sad.

Consider yourself lucky if you get anything by 4.0

Yes, they've also mentioned the noted delays several times in live events and other places. It doesn't make it any less lame, certainly. It is clearly something that has been back-burnered for the time being. I'm sure the development cycle of the expansion and it's primary assets took a lot of attention away from it. But why it wasn't taken care of earlier when it was being discussed prior to 3.0 still hasn't been given a very good answer.

I'll see Egi glamors when I see them. Until them they are a myth. I'm talking Unicorn and Australia levels of unexistence. Unlike egis however, there are truths to unicorns and there does exist evidence that suggests a land where everything is programmed to murderkill humanity.
