Are solo FCs worth it?

I've been in a couple of FCs, and I do like the one I'm in now. But while I completely understand ranks and jobs and such in an FC, I kind of wish I had my own so I could make full use of things like the company chest (my inventory/ retainers are crying) and airships without being restricted by rank, or someone else being in charge of it all. I have the resources to do so (money, time, house, crafters at 60), and wondered if I should bother making a solo FC to be able to experience it myself. I understand you have to drag crafters in at certain points, but that problem aside, is it worth doing?

It's a tradeoff. Group FCs have the social component that solo FCs lack. Solo FCs let you actually take part in everything, most of which would be restricted in a group FC. You'll have to decide which aspect is more important to you.

(Of course, players with solo FCs can use linkshells for the social interaction, whereas players in group FCs pretty much have to just give up on taking part in whatever features they're restricted from. So there is an advantage to either solo FCs or ones made of maybe 2 or 3 close friends where it's small enough to safely and viably open all permissions to everyone.)
