GC Squadrons Help

This is gonna be a stupid question, but I can't seem to find the answer. If you dismissed someone and want to re-recruit them later on, is this possible for dismissed characters to return?

There are about 5-6 possible recruits for each clan and gender of every race. They may return, but it's completely random if they do.

If you get a recruit and you dismiss they can come back anytime. It has happened to me twice with an archer. However, i dont know if a current member of your squadron will return if you replace him.
