[ Dev Request ] PotD 'Guides'

In the original Palace of the Dead from Tactics Ogre: Let Us Cling Together there were Palace "Guide" items that would offer you the option of skipping various floors:
( Tactics Ogre versions )
Part 1 - Can be used when you about to enter B1 battle. That will let you skip to B26.
Part 2 - Can be used when you about to enter B26 battle. That will let you skip to B50.
Part 3 - Can be used when you about to enter B51 battle. That will let you skip to B75.
All Guide books are one time use only.

FFXIV Example: Palace Guide 1st edition: For preformed parties, gives option to skip 51-75.
Palace Guide 2nd Edition: Gives option to skip floors 75-100.

The party leader would be able to use this item when speaking to the Wood Wailer npc in Quarrymill. Various restrictions / alterations aside, the key thing here would be to allow parties a slight decrease in tedium required to reach the higher floors again while retaining the basic structure for other players.

Given that players wanting to farm higher floors (100+) have to start from Floor 51 each time, why not add this as a loot drop in Silver / Gold-trimmed bags? Keep the loot table the same by removing the Palace wallpaper / flooring and substituting these instead ( if you do nothing else, do this ).

So basically you're asking for a level jump to skip content because you can't be bothered? Am I right?

He's basically asking to have the same skip we already have to 51 for 101 as well, yes. So very unreasonable, to not want to start at 1 every time!
Truly, something needs to be done outside of the palace. It can't be that people can just queue up for a 60s dungeon they already cleared without grinding other dungeons for at least 2 hours beforehand.

I'm referring to an established precedent already set by the game that the current Deep Dungeon content takes its name from.

You have to reach floor 100+ or 150+ and find part of the accursed hoard for a chance to get a palace guide item.

It is a single use item.

When people fail, or perhaps even succeed, this item would function as a way to get people to go back into the deep dungeon again.
People would still have to clear 51-100 normally in DF. Premades would have a chance at not having to repeat certain early floors again on their way to the top. The way I propose things, Floors 100+ would not have dungeon guides to preserve the challenge / intended route laid by the devs.

Given that people can now solo 51-100, nothing is being lost by offering this item to pre-formed parties. This is not a major change to rewards structure or difficulty. It's an optional path for parties that have the item and are willing to forego any rewards offered by the floors they are skipping.

The new floors have been out for less than a week and you already wanting to skip floors?

It takes HOURS of ploughing through floors to get to the good stuff. And that's assuming you don't wipe. And you can't replace people either, you absolutely have to do it with the same people, so if someone has to go, too bad for you no palace of the dead past floor 100.

floors 101+ are 4 people raid content. When people are able to coordinate 8 person alex raids, it shouldnt be too hard to coordinate 4 people...

It took me and the group I'm with just under 2 hours to go from 51-100, if you and the group you doing it with are taking too long to get to floor 100 then I highly suggest leveling up your Aetherpool Arm/Armor since once you have 99/99 you can skip alot of rooms and the silver chest since no one would need them and just stockpile all the Pomanders for floor 101+.

Like I said, it takes hours to plough through to the good stuff. 2 hours of ploughing through crap is annoying.

From say 170 onwards the trash starts hitting pretty hard and with traps going off and mobs spawning out of nowhere, the pomanders were already starting to run out. I think it would be even tougher dropping straight into floor 151 with no poms at all.

For me, the fact it took us a while to get to the hardest floors, made it more scary, and everyone being extra cautious, something I cannot say for any other content in the game. it's about time we had something like this
