Suggestions for Improvement: The Glamour System

For many who cling to gear purely for glamour and otherwise clutter their retainers: since it'll pile up overtime as content releases, it'd be great to have a system that "saves" a gear's glamour without having to keep it. This saves some of the need for more inventory space rather than throw/reobtaining gear if you want to use it later, or dealing with it and wishing for more room.
If called the "Book of Glamours", it'd let you glamour off it by recording previously owned gear's glamours. Implementation ideas:

• Gears to record are chosen, so there's no excess options
• Recorded gears become bound (prevents buying/reselling immediately) OR destroyed; this way you only record it when it's only wanted for glamour(& not stats, which prompts scrapping it if not for glamour anyway)
• Sorted menus by slot and/or roles. OR just slot and only what you can glamour on your current role appears (if not, maybe a warning)
• A remove option

Given the Glamour System's use of Prisms, I have often been thinking of something along the same lines, but instead making it something like a "Glamour Icosahedron" which can be made by merging together the glamour prisms of the items you want (it would consume these items to make the prism) into a sphere like crystal and then you can make a slot similar to a soul crystal to insert the icosahedron and have its contents display over your equipped armor without having to manually cast glamour over them all.

And if Square do actually implement mannequins like they claim they're working on, it's be a nice feature to have the option to insert a glamour icosahedron into the mannequin to have it visually display the glamour set on the mannequin.

So basically make a glamour "materia" merged with the armor glamour plus the prisms that you can equip to a slot? (Was a little confused, but I know it's kind of hard to fit a detailed idea within 1000 characters..)
Anyways, if I'm understanding it right, the idea itself doesn't sound so bad; but, wouldn't it still pose a problem of carrying each said icosahedron/materia for each individual glamours you wish to save?

The icosahedron would basically be like a set of armor is now, filled with slots so you can have a weapon, full left side armor and full right side offhand/accessories. While you might have to consume a piece of armor into a prism, that prism could be reusable if you sacrifice the icosahedron and then have the requisite components of the icosahedron fall back into your pack (for a maximum of 13 items). With this in mind, it can be stored in an individual slot on the character equipment screen to overwrite the armour you're wearing with the glamour set.

To put it simply, an icosahedron is an item that banks all the glamour in one space, with the only downside that with the glamour pieces having been consumed, it can only be used in one icosahedron at a time. This means that if you want two sets of glamours with a specific pair of glasses, you'd need two pairs to make the prisms to put into each set, but then you don't have to crowd your retainer with as many glamour items when you can simply make an icosahedron to compile them into one inventory slot.

If they don't/can't change the current system to implement the glam system everyone wants, then change/add the calamity salvage NPC to include anything and everything you glamour. This way, there will be no need to change the requisites for the armoire, and we can just easily buy back anything we toss that can't go in there.

It's a little ridiculous that they release all of these level 1 glam pieces, and no way to really store it all. If it is a marketing technique to get players to buy additional retainers then SE is scrounging for scraps, or are blood thirsty greedy, and I refuse to believe either of those possibilities. It really is not cool to have players stress over their inventory day after day for something like glamours.

FFXI has something like a "storage ticket". I'm not sure of the details, but is something like this:

Each ticket has a unique name.
Each ticket can hold certain kind of items (like a gear set).
I'm not sure whether you can only buy the ticket once you got the full set of the items it can hold, or if you first buy the ticket regardless of how many pieces you own.
Once you want to store an item, you show the ticket and the piece(s) that you want to store.
When you want to remove an item, you present the ticket and a list will show up with the items you stored.
I remember that you pay a few thousand gil, but forgot if is at the moment of storing or at the moment of withdrawing.

So basically, is converting 5 or more slots that would be used by the gear, into only 1 slot for the ticket.
Actually, the lists where long, like 15 slots or something. In our case could be for example, one ticket per dungeon.

Anyways, we need something like that. The armoire is not enough D:

If I'm understanding this right, that wouldn't work. It would require every glamour item to be relegated to a particular set, which is almost never the case. For instance, I like the baron earrings, so glamour that onto lots of different sets, combined with lots of different armour/weapons/etc. How would I add the same pair of baron earrings into all of them, except by keeping the individual items in addition to the combined Icosahedron? (And if we're doing that, it kind of defeats the purpose, adding to the inventory bloat rather than reducing it.) If people were just going to use a glamour item once, for a particular set, they could already glamour it once and throw it away. People don't do that, because anything they like enough to glamour, they're likely to want again and again combined with lots of different sets.

The glamour book idea doesn't present any of that difficulty. You use a gear item (and maybe glamour prism) to add a single item's appearance to the log. You can then use the log (and a glamour prism) to apply that appearance onto gear as many times as you want. But once the item is logged in your book, you don't need to keep the item itself anymore. All the item data is replaced with just a single reference to its appearance.
